Chutney pood - Lasoonyacheor Kobryachi
Chutney pood is a Marathi word for dry powdered chutney. My mom used to give when I was staying in hostel for my degree course. I used to have this as a side dish almost for all. My friends and myself finish it off within one week and we will wait for next vacation to come :) I share this receipe for Nupur's RCI.
Ingredients- dry coconut(kobra)-1cup
- white sesame seeds - 1tblspn(optional)
- Redchili powder 1 1/2tsp
- Garlic pods-4 big
- Tamarind-a small ball size(optional)
- Salt
- Sugar-a pinch
Toast dry grated coconut over medium heat untill light brown.
Toast sesame seeds also.
Mix coconut,red chilli powder,tamarind,salt and sugar.
Grind the mixture untill all the ingredients are well blended.
Its a side dish accompany with all.
VariationYou can add dry roasted peanut also.
You can use kalbhatha(for mortar -pestle in Marathi)for mixing all the ingredients,tastes will be too good with coconut and sesame seeds oil.
